2009 MAACS COMPETITION
Cornerstone is a member of Mid America Association of Christian Schools( MAACS ) and participates in their regional competition each year. The Competition includes 86 possible categories in the areas of Bible(5), Music(27), Speech(12), Visual Art(21) and Academics(21). Senior high students who place first in their state in any paricular category are given the opportunity to compete at a national competition (AACS ) in South Carolina.
Elementary competition includes grades 4-6: Jr. High competition includes grades 7-8 and Sr. High competition includes grades 9-12. Participation in MAACS provides a great opportunity for high school students to letter in the speech, music, art, and Bible quizzing categories.
All students who have signed up in the fall (by Nov. 21st) to participate in the CFS Fine Arts Tournament are encouraged to begin preparing early. The CFS Fine Arts Festival will determine who actually gets to represent CFS at the MAACS competition. The competition itself limits our school to 2 entries per individual category and 1 entry per group category. For guidelines on dress code and other general information, click here. A list of competition categories are below. Click on the desired categories for additional information.
